AUDITIONS & INTERVIEW GUIDELINES

Thank you for your interest in the award winning, nationally recognized Norfolk State University Theatre Company!  We are preparing for a season that includes shows like DREAMGIRLS, BLACK NATIVITY and more!  Whether it's singing, acting, dancing, instrumental performance, modeling, marketing & promotion, makeup design, hair and wig styling, scenic design, lighting design or many more career training options --- there is something for everyone at NSUTC!  You can do one thing or everything -- find out what you need to prepare below!

Designers, Technicians, Musicians & Managers: schedule an interview and be prepared to discuss your interests and availability.

Actors: schedule an audition and prepare to perform one short monologue (under a minute). We will have monologues you can read from or you can present one that you have prepared and memorized.

Singers: schedule an audition and prepare to perform one short song segment (under a minute). You will sing without accompaniment so don't worry about bringing a phone with an instrumental.  Sing a song an section that really shows off your talent and range.

Dancers: schedule an audition and prepare to perform one dance number that you already know showing off your strongest dance style (about four 8-counts or 30-seconds). Be dressed for movement and prepared to learn a few 8-counts.

Models: schedule an audition and prepare to discuss your interest in modeling (runway, print, etc.) and your availability.
