AUDITIONS & INTERVIEW GUIDELINES
Thank you for your interest in Drama & Theatre at Norfolk State University! We are a student centered institution and an intense training program. We do NOT require or expect all students to arrive with exceptional skill set -- only exceptional passion and drive.
PREVIEW & SCHOLARSHIP AUDITION WEEKEND
(IN-PERSON & VIRTUAL)
FEBRUARY 18-20, 2022
If you would like to view campus facilities, meet current students, see a show or interview/audition for scholarship there are in-person and virtual options available.
Priority consideration for Drama & Theatre Scholarship consideration for Fall 2022 is Monday, March 14, 2022. Full consideration requires current admission to Norfolk State University and completion of your FAFSA Application with NSU listed as a university to receive your information. Any interviews or auditions conducted or received after the priority deadline will be considered based on availability. Please review the criteria for scholarship interviews and auditions below.
PERFORMERS AUDITIONING FOR SCHOLARSHIP:
Present a 60-second monologue from any source that shows strong dramatic or comedic content. This is REQUIRED.
You may also offer one or more song selections or dance pieces to present if you sing and/or dance. This is optional for those who can sing and/or dance.
DESIGNERS AND TECHNICIANS INTERVIEWING FOR SCHOLARSHIP:
Be prepared to discuss your interests and goals in technical theatre. If you have any materials to share, such as designs or projects, please have them ready to view.
